Mekala Rodrigo is a Melbourne-based, self-taught artist working primarily in acrylic on canvas. Her work centres on expressive florals with portraiture that explores presence, attention, and emotional resonance.

Born and raised in Sri Lanka, her visual language is shaped by colour, composition, and the natural world. She developed her practice independently, building a body of work through sustained observation and disciplined studio practice.

Her debut solo exhibition, Spirit of the Wild, marked a significant milestone, presenting works that reflect stillness, awareness, and the psychological presence of the animal form.

She continues to develop new work from her Melbourne studio.
