Here are some details

I work from photos so getting the best reference is the aim of the game. The quirkier and the fun the better so we get to draw their interesting personality on paper. Sometimes this may not be possible (e.g. with older photos), but it's still achievable to create something beautiful from these. The more photo options the better, then we can decide which image will create the best portrait.
